Relationship between parents and children as a predicator of relationship with partner

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá souvislosti mezi charakteristikami vztahů v rodině a partnerskými vztahy potomků ve věku 20-26 let. V teoretické časti je popsán partnerský vztah, teorie citové vazby (attachment) včetně souvislostí s partnerskými vztahy. Stručně je také vymezeno období mladé dospělosti. Empirická část se zabývá vybranými oblastmi ve vztazích matka - dítě a matka - otec a identifikuje ty oblasti, které predikují charakteristiky partnerských vztahů dětí. Výzkumný vzorek tvořilo 25 mladých párů a matky obou partnerů (100 osob). Regresní analýzou se prokázalo, že důvěra v partnerském vztahu dítěte je predikována důvěrou dítěte v matku, vysoké odcizení v partnerském vztahu je predikováno vysokým odcizením v primární rodině. Jistá citová vazba dítěte k matce pozitivně koreluje s jistou vazbou k partnerovi. Kroková regresní analýza prokázala, že na podobě partnerských vztahů se významněji podílí vztah dítěte k matce než vztah mezi rodiči.

Abstract:

The thesis examines relation between characteristics of family relationships and partnerships of the offsprings (aged 20-26). The teoretical part describes partnership and the theory of attachment including it`s application to partnership. Shortly it defnes the period of young adulthood. The empirical part deals with selected domains of mother-child and mother-father relationships and identifies domains, which predict the characteristics of children`s partnerships. Twenty-five young couples and mothers of both partners (N=100) formed the research sample. Regression analysis showed, that trust in the partnership of child is predicted by the trust of the child towards mother, high alienation in partnership is predicted by high alienation in the primal family. Secure child-mother attachment correlates positively with secure attachment in partnership. Stepwise regression analysis proved that child-mother relationship has bigger influence on partnership, than the relationship between parents.
