Modern analytical chemistry and its inclusion to the teaching of chemistry at secondary schools

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo provést zhodnocení současného stavu výuky analytické (zejména instrumentální) chemie na středních školách a gymnáziích a vytvořit popularizační materiály ve formě posterů a videí pro podporu výuky této oblasti chemie. Bylo zjištěno, že výuka analytické chemie není na dobré úrovni, analytická chemie je vyučována jako součást jiných oblastí, jako je například anorganická chemie, instrumentální metody nejsou vyučovány prakticky vůbec. Byl navržen možný postup začlenění tohoto oboru do rámcových vzdělávacích programů, který spočívá v přiřazení vlastní oblasti analytické chemii a vytvoření plánu učiva. Následně byly vytvořeny popularizační materiály, které byly zveřejněny pomocí internetových portálů. Tyto materiály se zaměřovaly na instrumentální analytické metody, zejména metody elektrochemické (potenciometrie, konduktometrie, elektroforéza) a spektrální (AAS, AES, UV/Vis spektrometrie, infračervená spektrometrie). Popularizační materiály mohou pomoci učitelům zařadit do výuky i instrumentální analytickou chemii.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis was to evaluate current state of teaching of analytical (especially instrumental) chemistry on secondary schools and create the popularization materials in form of posters and videos for promotion in this field. It was observed, that teaching of analytical chemistry is not on good level, analytical chemistry is taught as part of other disciplines, such as inorganic chemistry, and instrumental methods aren't practically taught at all. A possible procedure of including this field to Framework Education Programme was proposed. It consists in separation of analytical chemistry from other disciplines and creation of its own curriculum. Then the popularization materials were made and they were post to the internet. These materials were focused on instrumental methods of analytical chemistry, especially electrochemical (potentiometry, conductometry, electrophoresis) and spectral (AAS, AES, UV/Vis spectrometry, infrared spectrometry) methods. Popularization materials could help teachers to include instrumental analytical chemistry to the teaching.
