Geography of crime in the city of Most

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá geografickou analýzou kriminality města Mostu se zaměřením na vybrané majetkové trestné činy, a to konkrétně krádeže vloupáním do bytů, věcí z automobilů a motorových vozidel dvoustopých. V teoretické části dochází k definování pojmů jako je kriminalita, kriminogenní faktory, geografie kriminality a hot spot. V další části se práce zabývá vymezením a charakteristikou území, vytyčením základních kriminogenních faktorů a samotnou analýzou majetkové kriminality na území města Mostu. Analyzován je vývoj a objasněnost trestné činnosti a pomocí metody jádrových odhadů (kernel density) identifikována místa, kde dochází k nejvyšší intenzitě jednotlivých deliktů. V další kapitole je problematika majetkové kriminality zasazena do širšího kontextu za územní jednotku vyššího řádu, tzn. okres Most. S využitím metody regresní analýzy jsou poté statisticky zkoumány kriminogenní faktory, které lze aplikovat v podmínkách sledovaného území.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is focused on geographical analysis of crime in the city of Most, in detail on selected property crimes, namely burglaries, thefts from cars and motor vehicle thefts. The definition of concepts such as crime, criminogenic factors, geography of crime and hot spot is being defined in the theoretical part. In next part, the thesis contains the definition and characterization of the area of interest, the identification of basic criminogenic factors and the analysis of property crime in the city of Most. The development and clarification of crime is analysed and places with the highest intensity of property crime are identified using the kernel density method. In the next chapter, the issue of property crime is analysed in a wider context as a territorial unit of a higher order, i.e. the district of Most. Thereafter, regression analysis examines factors that may affect crime in the area of interest.
