Justice and Injustice in Teachers’ Behaviour from the Perspective of Secondary School Students

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá spravedlností a nespravedlností v jednání učitelů z pohledu žáků střední školy. Cílem této práce bylo na základě analýzy mnou získaných narativů od žáků středních škol prostřednictvím uplatnění kvalitativního výzkumu zjistit, jaké jednání považují žáci střední školy u svých učitelů za nespravedlivé. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a empirickou. Teoretická část se skládá ze čtyř hlavních kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá spravedlností a nespravedlností obecněji. Ve druhé kapitole se již věnuji spravedlnosti v kontextu školní výuky. Kapitola třetí se zabývá spravedlností a nespravedlností jako tématem empirického výzkumu. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá vztahem mezi učitelem a žákem, pedagogickou komunikací a jednáním učitele, disciplínou ve škole a hodnocením žáků a jeho funkcemi. Empirická část této práce popisuje metodologii výzkumného šetření, v případě této práce tedy analýzu narativů a její výsledky.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with justice and injustice in teachers’ behaviour from the perspective of secondary school students. The main aim of this thesis is to find out what behaviour of teachers is considered unfair by their secondary school students, based on analysis of narratives I have obtained from those students as well as by the means of qualitative research. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical one consists of four main chapters. The first chapter deals with justice and injustice in general. The second chapter is dedicated to justice in the context of school teaching. The third chapter addresses justice and injustice as topics of empirical research. And the fourth chapter deals with the relationship between a teacher and a student, pedagogical communication, and teacher´s behaviour, school discipline and evaluation of students, as well as its functions. The empirical part of this thesis describes the methodology of research, therefore, in this thesis it is the analysis of the narratives and the respective results of the research.
