Women´s and midwives´s awareness about hyperstimulation syndrome and its consequences

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na informovanost žen o problematice ovariálního hyperstimulačního syndromu a popisuje péči porodních asistentek o ženy, které OHSS prodělaly. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit, zda jsou ženy informovány o OHSS při podstupování léčby pomocí metod asistované reprodukce, a stanovit specifika ošetřovatelské péče o ženu s OHSS. Ke zjištění hlavního cíle byly stanoveny 4 dílčí cíle. Pro průzkumné šetření byl zvolen kvalitativní typ průzkumu, k získání dat byl použit polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Z průzkumného šetření vyplynulo, že ženy nejsou plně informovány o OHSS. Dílčími cíli bylo zjištěno, že by měl být kladen větší důraz na poskytování informací před zahájením samotné léčby neplodnosti. V rámci své bakalářské práce jsem vytvořila edukační materiál, který může sloužit ke zvýšení povědomí o této komplikaci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on woman's awareness of the problem of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and describes the care of midwives for women who have experience OHSS. The main aim of the work was to find out whether women are informed about OHSS when undergoing treatment using assisted reproduction methods and determine the specifics of nursing care for a woman with OHSS. To achieve the main aim, 4 sub aims were set. A qualitative type of survey was chosen for the exploratory survey, a semistructured interview was used to obtain data. The exploratory survey revealed that the women are not fully informed about OHSS. Throughout the sub aims it was found that more emphasis should be placed on providing information before starting the fertility treatment itself. As a part of my bachelor thesis, I created educational material that can serve to increase awareness of this complication.
