Comparison of analogue and digital mammography screening costs in a specific hospital.

Abstract:

Práce stručně popisuje současný systém poskytování zdravotní péče v ČR a způsob jeho financování. Dále provádí rámcový popis problematiky dvou výkonů - mamografického screeningu a diagnostické mamografie. Popisuje systém přenosu a archivace obrazové dokumentace. V aplikační části analyzuje náklady těchto výkonů ve dvou obdobích provedených na technologicky odlišných modalitách. Provádí jejich komparaci a srovnává zjištěné náklady výkonů s úhradami zdravotních pojišťoven. Závěrečná část práce hodnotí výsledky provedené analýzy, zabývá se příčinami nákladové variability u jednotlivých přístrojů a uvádí možnosti ovlivnění výše vynaložených nákladů.

Abstract:

This thesis contains a brief description of the current system of health care delivery in the Czech Republic and of the ways of its funding. Further it provides a more detailed image of two procedures - screening mammography and diagnostic mammography. It describes the system of transfer and storage of the data. In the application part it analyses the structure of costs of these procedures performed during two different time periods by two different technological methods. It performs their comparison and compares the real costs of procedures with the health insurance reimbursements. The final part of the thesis evaluates the results of the analysis, deals with the causes of costs variation in the particular devices, and indicates the possibility of influencing the amount of costs incurred.
