Protinádorové účinky proteinu NDRG1 (N-myc downstream-regulated gene 1) jsou předmětem studia již téměř dvě desetiletí. Nedávno byla částečně objasněna jejich role v regulaci EGFR (Epidermal growth factor receptor) signalizace u karcinomu pankreatu. Tumor suppressive effects of NDRG1 (N-myc downstream-regulated gene 1) protein have been the subject of study for almost two decades.
