Triggers that cause aggressive behaviour in an individual with atypical autism

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou spouštěčů agrese a eliminací agrese u jedince s atypickým autismem s mentálním postižením. Teoretická část v sobě zahrnuje základní informace o poruchách autistického spektra, stručný historický přehled, etiologii, diagnostiku a klasifikaci autismu, dále problémové chování u lidí s poruchou autistického spektra a možnosti řešení takového chování. Tuto část uzavírá problematika rodiny s jedincem s poruchou autistického spektra, rané péče a vzdělávání. Předmětem výzkumné části je dlouhodobé a zúčastněné pozorování chlapce s atypickým autismem s mentálním postižením. Ve výzkumné části byly také zařazeny rozhovory s rodiči, lékaři a pedagogy. Za pomocí těchto technik a podrobné analýzy zjištěných skutečností, byly definovány některé ze spouštěčů agresivního chování u chlapce s poruchou autistického spektra. V závěru práce jsou navrhnuty možnosti snížení projevů agresivního chování u chlapce, které by měly být nápomocny zejména rodičům a osobám pečujících o chlapce.

Abstract:

My diploma work deals with triggers and elimination of aggression in an individual with atypical autism and mental impairment. The theoretical part of my diploma work includes basic information about autistic spectrum of disorders, a brief historic survey, etiology, diagnosis and autism classification, behaviour problems in individuals with autistic spectrum of disorders, and a possible solution to such behaviour. This chapter concludes with a problem of the family with an autism spectrum disorder, early care and education. In my research I have been deeply involved in the observation of a boy with atypical autism and mental impairment. The research part of my diploma work includes interview with parents, doctors and teachers. These helpful techniques allowed me to elaborate thorough analysis, where some of the triggers of aggressive behaviour in an individual with an autism spectrum disorder are defined. In conclusion, there are proposed possibilities of how to reduce children´s aggression, which should be supportive to parents and people who are looking after the boys.
