Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou zahraničního obchodu Československa a Francie v meziválečném období. Francie měla značný vliv na vznik Československé republiky po rozpadu habsburské monarchie, proto je cílem této práce zanalyzovat, zda se politické zájmy obou v tomto slova smyslu spřátelených zemí odrazily i v zájmech obchodních. Teoretická část práce popisuje hospodářsko-politické reálie obou zemí v meziválečném období a také jejich spolupráci, která vycházela ze vzájemných obchodních smluv. Praktická část pak detailněji analyzuje celkový zahraniční obchod obou zemí a také jejich vzájemný obchod, jak z pohledu celkového vývozu a dovozu, tak i z pohledu komoditní struktury. Jedním z dílčích závěrů práce je, že politické zájmy nekorespondovaly se zájmy obchodními, což se projevilo orientací československého zahraničního obchodu, zejména exportu, na jiná teritoria (zejména na tehdejší Německo, Rakousko či USA). Praktická část pro analýzu využívá převodu na metodiku SITC 1, na základě tohoto převodu bylo zjištěno, že se vývoz do Francie po ekonomické transformaci přeorientoval na vývoz komodit s vyšším stupněm zpracování, oproti meziválečnému období. Naopak na straně dovozu zůstala komoditní struktura obdobná. Z práce dále vyplývá obecně nízké riziko koncentrace dovozu na jednu komoditu dle rozdělení SITC 1, avšak obnažuje vyšší riziko koncentrace na straně vývozu, které se projevilo v roce 1920, kdy byl celkový vývoz závislý na vývozu jedné komodity – cukru.

Abstract:

The thesis analysis predominantly foreign trade between Czechoslovakia and France during interwar era. After the collapse of Habsburg monarchy, the positive impact of France to the foundation of an independent Czechoslovak state significant.. Therefore the aim of this thesis is to analyse whether the political interests coresponded with the international trade interests between both countries. The theoretical part describes the economic and political realities of both countries in the interwar period and their cooperation, which was based on mutual trade agreements.The practical part consist of detailed analysis of total foreign trade of both countries and also their mutual trade cooperation in terms of export and import. It also provides detailed view of commodity structure. One of the partial conclusion of this thesis is, that the political interests did not resulted into trading interests between both countries. Czechoslovak trade was oriented towards different countries (namely Germany, Austria and USA). For comparative analysis of the differences between foreign trade in the interwar era and the post transformation trade cooperation between the respective countries, the adjustment to the SITC 1 methodology has been used in practical part. This comparative analysis let to several outcomes, one of them is that after the economic transformation in Czechoslovakia, the commodities with higher degree of processing are exported to France compared to interwar period. On the other hand, the import of commodities remains very similar to the interwar period. The another conclusion of this thesis is that there is negligible risk of trade concentration towards one commodity divided accordign to SITC 1 methodology on the part of import . But a higher risk of concentration on the export side has been revealed, which manifested itself in 1920, when total exports were dependent on exports of one commodity – sugar.
