Business Specifics of the Turkish Economy from the Perspective of Foreign Direct Investment

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním podnikatelských specifik tureckého hospodářství z hlediska přímých zahraničních investic. Cílem předkládané diplomové práce je zhodnotit prostřednictvím vhodných metod, zda lze Turecko považovat za perspektivní a atraktivní cíl pro zahraniční investory. Za tímto účelem je provedena PEST analýza Turecké republiky, která je významným nástrojem při rozhodování podniku o vstupu na zahraniční trh. Dále je věnována pozornost posouzení specifických podmínek vstupu zahraničního kapitálu, a to především s akcentem na nový vládní systém investičních pobídek, jakožto motivační nástroj pro podporu přímých zahraničních investic v Turecku. V poslední části práce je analyzován vývoj přímých zahraničních investic a jejich struktury v Turecké republice v letech 2002 2013. Nedílnou součástí této analýzy je zhodnocení přímých zahraničních investic do turecké ekonomiky v širším mezinárodním kontextu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the business specifics of the Turkish economy in terms of foreign direct investment. The goal of thesis is to evaluate, using an appropriate methods, whether Turkey can be considered as a promising and attractive destination for foreign investors. For this purpose the PEST analysis of Turkish Republic is performed, which is an important tool for a company to decide whether or not to enter foreign market. Further, the attention is paid to assessment of the specific conditions of foreign capital entry, especially focusing on a new system of government investment incentives as a motivational tool for a boost of a foreign direct investment in Turkey. In the last part of the thesis the development of foreign direct investment and its structure in Turkish Republic in years 2002 - 2013 is analyzed. Integral part of this analysis is evaluation of foreign direct investment to the Turkish economy in a broader international context.
