Economics Relations between the EU and China

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je analýza vývoje vzájemných ekonomických vztahů EU a Číny se zaměřením na 90. léta 20. století a 1. dekádu 21. století. První kapitola popisuje vývoj vztahů, který je definován v oficiálních dokumentech EU, v menším měřítku pak ve vyjádření Číny. Cílem této kapitoly je zjištění na jaké bázi a jaké kvality vztahy partnerů dosahují dle sepsaných strategických dokumentů. Výzkumnou otázkou bude, jak se povaha vztahů EU a Číny během zkoumaného období změnila, tzv. od počátku 90. let do první dekády nového tisíciletí. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na reálné obchodní a ekonomické vztahy. Účelem této kapitoly je zjištění, zda strategické partnerství EU a Číny napomáhá k prohloubení obchodních vztahů. Třetí kapitola popisuje vzájemné obchodní překážky, které ovlivňují obchodní a ekonomické vztahy.

Abstract:

The aim of this dissertation is an analysis of development of economic relations between European Union and China, focusing on the last decade of 20th century and the first decade of 21st century. The first chapter attends to the evolution of the relationship as it is described in official EU documents and on a smaller scale from Chinese perspective. This chapter endeavors to determine on what basis the partners’ relationship functions and what quality it achieves as per strategic documents. The research question will be ‘how the nature of relations between the EU and China has changed during the determined period, i.e. from the beginning of 1990s until 2010’. Subsequently, the dissertation focuses on real trade and economic relations. The aim of the second chapter is to determine whether the strategic partnership between the EU and China helps to deepen trade relations. Finally, the third chapter describes the mutual trade barriers that affect trade and economic relations between the EU and China.
