The Role of Moon Trilogy of Zulawski in Polish Fantasy Literature

Abstract:

In my master thesis, I deal with a ?trylogią księżycową? written by Jerzy Żuławski. He was one of the most significant authors of ?Młoda Polska?, era, who belonged among pioneers of polish science fiction literature. Most of the story takes place on the Moon. I especialy focused on share of fantastic content in all of his three novels. The objective of my thesis was to discover, how much the origin of the trilogy was influenced by fantastic literature and how Żuławski contributed to develop of polish fantastic literature as well. In theoretical part, I focused on writer's life and I clarified basic notions of fantastic literature. In practical part, I analysed the most significant Żulawski's work.

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám ?trylogią księżycową? spisovatele Jerzego Żuławskiego. Byl to významný autor období ?Młoda Polska?, který patřil mezi průkopníky polské vědeckofantastické literatury. Převážná část příběhu se odehrává na měsíci. Zaměřila jsem se především na podíl fantastiky ve všech třech románech. Cílem mé práce bylo zjistit, jaký vliv měla fantastika na vznik trilogie, ale také jakým způsobem Żuławski přispěl k rozvoji fantastiky v polské literatuře. V teoretické části jsem se zaměřila na autorův život a objasnila základní pojmy fantastiky. V praktické části jsem provedla analýzu nejvýznamnějšího díla Żuławskiego.
