Adaptation and Preparation for Old Age from the Point of View of the Middle Generation

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na proces stárnutí a stáří v životě člověka a zkoumá přípravu a adaptaci na tuto životní fázi z pohledu střední generace. První teoretická část vymezuje základní pojmy, kategorie věku, proces stárnutí a stáří dle souvisejících vědních disciplín, zejména psychologie, lékařství, sociologie a gerontologie. Dále charakterizuje pohled na stáří z historického měřítka, definuje důležité pojmy z oblasti adaptace na stáří, stanovuje koncepce aktivního stárnutí populace. V praktické části v rámci dotazníkovém šetření bylo vyhodnoceno, zda a jak se vzorec respondentů střední generace připravuje na stáří a jaké možnosti v tomto ohledu využívá s ohledem na současný stav. Cílem této práce bylo po-souzení základních charakterových rysů a projevů stáří v populaci, a to jak z hlediska celé společnosti, tak z hlediska jednotlivce.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the process of ageing and old-age in life of a human and observes the adaptation in this life phase from the view of middle-generation. The first theoretical part deals with the basic terms, categorization of age, the process of ageing and old-age according to the scientific disciplines, especially psychology, medicine, sociology and ger-ontology. Also, it characterizes the view on old-age from historical perspective. In the practical part based on the questionnaire research, it was evaluated whether and how the sample of the middle-generation respondents are being prepared for old age and what pos-sibilities the middle generation uses for this purpose regard to the current situation. The aim of this thesis was to assess the basic character traits and signs of old age in the population, both from the point of view of the whole society and the individual as well.
