Abstract:

Hlavním cílem disertační práce je vyhodnotit dopad hybných sil hodnoty na hodnotu společnosti a vztah mezi nimi. Ochrana životního prostředí a změna klimatu jsou hlavními diskusními body moderního světa. To vede k rostoucí politické angažovanosti v této záležitosti. Existuje mnoho nových dohod mezi zeměmi světa o snížení emisí skleníkových plynů z průmyslových odvětví. Úřady a veřejnost si začínají uvědomovat vznikající škodlivé účinky vypouštění těchto druhů plynů. V důsledku toho jsou zaváděny politiky ke snížení emisí skleníkových plynů. Tato disertačne práce se zaměřuje na změněné environmentální chování související s environmentálními předpisy a měnící se makroekonomické parametry. Na základě definovaných výzkumných otázek je prvním krokem identifikace a kvantifikace interních hnacích sil firemní hodnoty. Analýza 1 je provedena pomocí vícenásobné lineární regresní analýzy. Ve druhém kroku jsou tyto zkoumané interní faktory použity k ověření a kvantifikaci vlivu externích hybných sil (HDP, ekologická daň a Fraserův index). Analýza 2 je provedena s pomocí specifického modelu strukturálních rovnic (path analysis). Údaje v této disertaci jsou čerpány z vybraných průmyslových odvětví (kov, papír a chemikálie) pěti evropskýchzemí (Belgie, Francie, Německo, Itálie a Španělsko) v období 2006-2015. Zjištění ukazují, že nejvýznamnějšími interními hybnými silami jsou velikost, zisková marže a návratnost aktiv. HDP a ekologická daň jsou vnějšími hybnými silami s nejvyšším dopadem na přidanou hodnotu. HDP má vždy pozitivní dopad na přidanou hodnotu, zatímco ekologická daň má vždy negativní dopad na přidanou hodnotu. Výsledky také naznačují, že dopad HDP je vyšší v obdobích hospodářské krize, dopad ekologické daně je vyšší v obdobích bez krize. Disertační práce rovněž identifikovala negativní příčinnou souvislost mezi regulací a hodnotou firmy.

Abstract:

The main objective of the dissertation is to evaluate the impact of value drivers on company value and the relationship between them. Protecting the environment and climate change are the main discussion points in the modern world. Recently, there has been increased political engagement on this issue. Many countries around the world made agreements to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, authorities and public are realising the harmful effects of greenhouse gases. As a result, measures have been adopted to reduce these emis- sions. Changed environmental behaviour paired with environmental regulations as well as changing macro-economic parameters are the scope of the investigation in this dissertation. Based on the research questions an identification and quantification of internal drivers of firm value constitutes the first step. Analysis 1 is done by means of a multiple linear regression analysis. In the second step these examined internal drivers are used in an investigation to verify and quantify the influence of external drivers (GDP, environmental tax and the Fraser index). Analysis 2 is done via a spe- cific structural equation model (path analysis). Data in this dissertation are drawn from selected industrial sectors (metal, paper, and chemical) of five European coun- tries (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and Spain) within the period of 2006-2015. The findings show that size, profit margin and return on assets are the most relevant internal drivers. GDP and environmental tax are external driver with the highest impact on added value. GDP always has a positive impact on added value, whereas environmental tax has always a negative impact on added value. The results also indicate that the impact of GDP is higher in periods of economic of crisis, the impact of environmental tax is higher in periods without crisis. The impact of all external drivers is in both regions during an economic crisis positive, whereas the impact of all external drivers is in both regions during periods without an economic crisis is negative. Considerung absolute values the impact is stronger during economic crisis. The dissertation also identified a causality between decreasing regulation and in- creasing firm value.
