Economic benefits of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant in 2014-2018

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na identifikaci a kvantifikaci ekonomických přínosů spjatých s provozem Jaderné elektrárny Temelín v letech 2014 až 2018. Tyto přínosy jsou rozděleny do třech následujících kategorií, kdy první kategorie se zabývá vlivem Jaderné elektrárny Temelín na zaměstnanost, druhou kategorií je výše investičních a neinvestičních darů ze strany firmy ČEZ a. s. přilehlým obcím a poslední jsou daňové příjmy obci Temelín, na jejímž katastrálním území se Jaderná elektrárna Temelín nachází. Teoretická část se zabývá obory environmentální ekonomie a ekonomie energetiky a jejich pohledem na jaderné elektrárny. Zbytek teoretické části je tvořen tématy věnujícími se trhu s elektřinou, jimiž jsou strana poptávky na trhu s elektřinou, strana nabídky na trhu s elektřinou a tvorba rovnováhy na trhu s elektřinou. V prvních třech kapitolách praktické části se práce věnuje charakterizaci trhu s elektřinou v ČR, dále jaderným elektrárnám v ČR, jejich vlivem na vybrané makroekonomické ukazatele a jejich podílu na výrobě elektřiny v ČR. Ve zbylých kapitolách se poté práce v praktické části zaměřuje na definici regionu v okolí Jaderné elektrárny Temelín, ekonomické přínosy, které tato elektrárna definovanému regionu přináší, a nakonec prostřednictvím metody komparativní analýzy, porovnání výše těchto přínosů s jinými druhy elektráren v ČR. Výsledky komparativní analýzy naznačují, že výše ekonomických přínosů pro přilehlý region Jaderné elektrárny Temelín je vyšší než u jiných druhů elektráren v ČR na jejich přilehlé regiony.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the identification and quantification of economic benefits associated with the operation of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant in the period 2014 to 2018. These benefits are divided into the following three categories, where the first category deals with the impact of Temelín Nuclear Power Plant on employment, the second category concerns investment and non-investment donations from ČEŽ a.s. to the adjacent municipalities and the last category focuses on tax revenues of the municipality of Temelín, on whose territory the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant is located. The rest of the theoretical part consists of topics dealing with the electricity market, which are the demand side of the electricity market, the supply side of the electricity market and the equilibrium on the electricity market. In the first three chapters of the practical part, the work deals with the characterization of the electricity market in the Czech Republic, nuclear power plants in the Czech Republic, their influence on selected macroeconomic indicators and their share in electricity generation in the Czech Republic. In the remaining chapters, the work in the practical part focuses on the definition of the region around the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, the economic benefits the power plant brings to the defined region, and eventually, through the method of comparative analysis, comparison of these benefits with other types of power plants in the Czech Republic. The results of the comparative analysis suggest that the amount of economic benefits in the adjacent region of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant is higher than in other types of power plants in the Czech Republic in their respective adjacent regions.
