Abstract:
Tato práce zkoumá vývoj dramatického realismu ve Spojených státech v druhé polovině devatenáctého století a vlivy, které jej ovlivnily. Zvláštní pozornost klade na hru Margaret Fleming od Jamese A. Hernea, která se vymykala svým současníkům. Zkoumá, jaký dopad uvedení této hry v této době mělo a co mu předcházelo, a zároveň spekuluje, do jaké míry hra mohla ovlivnit realismus 20. století.Abstract:
This thesis examines the development of dramatic realism in the United States in late 19th century and the influences that affected it. It pays special attention to the play Margaret Fleming by James A. Herne, which stood apart from its contemporaries. It examines what impact the staging of this play had in its time and what preceded it, and at the same time speculates to what extent the play could …more
