Constitutional Reflection on the Position of the Public Service Television

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá postavením televize veřejné služby v ústavním systému České republiky, včetně srovnání se situací na Slovensku a v Rakousku. Podstatnou součástí práce je i historické shrnutí vývoje státní televize, která tvořila základ televizního vysílání v Československu, kde je cílem zjistit, zda i v činnosti televize řízené státem bylo možné vysledovat něco z poslání veřejné služby. Nejdůležitějším tématem práce je pak veřejná služba v oblasti televizního vysílání a možnosti televize veřejné služby přispět k realizaci některých základních práv a svobod.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the position of the public service television in the constitutional order of the Czech Republic, including a comparison with the situation in Slovakia and Austria. A substantial part of the thesis is also a historical summary of the evoluton of the state television, which was the basis of the television broadcasting in Czechoslovakia, where the aime is to analyze, if, in the activity of the television directed by the state, it was possible to find something of the public service. The most important topic of the thesis are the public service in the television broadcasting and the possibilities of the public service television how to contribute to the realization of some basic rights and freedoms.
