Humanitarian Aid of the Armed Forces Outside the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice poskytování humanitární pomoci ozbrojenými silami mimo území České republiky. Cílem práce je identifikovat přednosti a nedostatky této účasti a formulovat doporučení pro zlepšení praxe. Teoretická část práce se v první části zabývá obecnou problematikou humanitární pomoci. Následuje kapitola věnovaná právnímu rámci poskytování humanitární pomoci ozbrojenými silami. Dále je zde vysvětlen pojem ozbrojené síly a možnosti působení Armády České republiky, především v rámci mírových operací, kde poskytování humanitární pomoci hraje důležitou roli. Praktická část práce prezentuje výsledky vlastního výzkumu, který zahrnuje přehled poskytování humanitární pomoci AČR do zahraničí, interpretaci rozhovorů s českými vojáky a SWOT analýzu. Na základě syntézy získaných poznatků jsou formulována doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of providing humanitarian aid by the armed forces outside the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of this participation and to formulate recommendations for improving the practice. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in the first part with the general issues of humanitarian aid. This is followed by a chapter devoted to the legal framework for the provision of humanitarian aid by the armed forces. It also explains the concept of armed forces and the possibilities of the Czech Army's involvement, especially in peacekeeping operations where the provision of humanitarian aid plays an important role. The practical part presents the results of own research, which includes an overview of the provision of humanitarian aid by the Czech Armed Forces abroad, interpretation of interviews with Czech soldiers and SWOT analysis. Based on the synthesis of the findings, recommendations for practice are formulated.
