Experimenting with dialogic teaching in secondary geographical education (an example of Middle East)

Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnuji analýze rozhovorů s učiteli geografie za účelem zjištění typických rysů imaginativních geografií Blízkého východu vytvářených ve výuce geografie na středních školách. Součástí je i návrh konkrétních vyučovacích metod oslabujících zjednodušující stereotypy a posilujících zapojení žáků do procesu vytváření obrazu Blízkého východu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis analyzes interviews with teachers of geography, attempting to determine the typical characteristics of imaginative geographies of the Middle East that are created in geography lessons at secondary schools. It also includes a proposal of specific teaching methods that weaken the simplistic stereotypes and strengthen the involvement of students in the process of creating an image of the Middle East.
