Statistical Analysis of the External Field Influence on the Polymer Phase Transition

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá snahou o urychlení fázové transformace z fáze II do fáze I isotaktického polybutenu-1 za pomocí mikrovlnného záření. V teoretické části jsou obsaženy obecné informace o polymerech, jejich struktuře a také část byla zaměřena na isotaktický polybuten-1, vybrané metody charakterizace polymerních vzorků a na vliv vnějších polí na strukturu polymerů. Také jsou zde popsány statistické metody pro analýzu dat. V praktické části jsou popsány použité materiály, příprava vzorků a jejich následné měření pomocí rentgenové difrakce. Jsou zde interpretovány dosažené výsledky, náležitě popsány a byla provedena následná statistická analýza a vyhodnocení. Z výsledků bylo vypozorováno, že mikrovlnné pole při dávce 700 W dokázalo urychlit fázovou transformaci II na I téměř o polovinu. Ze statistické analýzy vyplynulo, že rozptyly i průměry u poločasu fázové transformace se statisticky významně liší.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on an investigation of the acceleration of the phase transformation from phase II to phase I of isotactic polybutene-1 using microwave radiation. The theoretical part contains general information about polymers, and their structure, and a part is also focused on isotactic polybutene-1, selected methods of characterization of polymer samples, and the influence of external fields on the structure of polymers. Statistical methods for data analysis are also described. The practical part describes the materials used, the sample preparation, and their subsequent measurement by X-ray diffraction. The results obtained are interpreted, and duly described and the subsequent statistical analysis and evaluation have been carried out. From the results, it was observed that the microwave field at a dose of 700 W was able to accelerate the phase transformation of II to I by almost half. Statistical analysis showed that the variances and means for the half-time of phase transformation were statistically significantly different.
