Abstract:

Diplomová práce předkládá portrét významného představitele českého hermetismu, nakladatele a umělce Vladislava Zadrobílka (1932-2010). V první části líčí jeho životní dráhu se zaměřením na klíčová období a jednotlivé milníky. Postupně prezentuje jednotlivé oblasti jeho zájmu - jejich odraz v jeho dílech, aktivitách, ale i soukromém životě. Ukazuje, jakou spojitost a význam pro něj měly osobnosti jako Gustav Meyrink, Otokar Březina či František Antonín Špork. Věnuje se i jeho činnosti ediční, nakladatelské a organizátorské. Druhá část práce se pak více zaměřuje na oblast hermetismu a okultních věd, zejména alchymie, která byla jednou z hlavních oblastí Zadrobílkova zájmu. Ukazuje rovněž jeho roli v "polistopadové" obnově hermetického dění a spolkového života. Třetí část pak ukazuje jeho působení v tzv. kulturním undergroundu. Čtvrtá část je mozaikou rozhovorů s pamětníky - kolegy, přáteli a rodinnými příslušníky, kteří svými slovy dotvářejí portrét této osobnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis presents a portrait of an important exponent of the contemporaneous Czech hermeticism, publisher and artist Vladislav Zadrobílek (1932-2010). The first part describes the path of his life, focused on key periods, moments and milestones. Particular spheres of his interests are introduced successively - how they came into his life and how they were mirrored in his own works, activities and personal life. This context is illustrated on significant personalities like Gustav Meyrink, Otokar Březina or count František Antonín Špork. This chapter also deals with Zadrobílek's activity as an editor, publisher and organizer. The second part of the thesis is more focused on hermeticism and occult sciences, mainly alchemy, that was one of the major spheres of Zadrobílek's interest for the main part of his life. His role in the process of the renaissance of the Czech hermetic movement and fellowship after the "velvet revolution" in 1989 is also accented. The third part shows Zadrobílek's impact on the so called cultural underground. The fourth and final part is a mosaic of interviews with contemporary witnesses - his colleagues, friends and family, who (by their own words) complete the portrait of this unique personality.
