The Contemporary Reading of Youth

Abstract:

Čítanka je specifický druh učebnice, který by měl obsahovat množství ukázek z literárních děl motivujících žáky k mimoškolní četbě. Tato práce se zaměřuje na zjištění skutečnosti, zda se použití čítanky projevuje ve výběru titulů a v množství literatury čtené žáky ve věku 11 – 15 let. Porovnává míru, do jaké se literatura čtená žáky shoduje s literaturou uváděnou v čítance, která je použita při výuce literatury. Práce předpokládá, že jednou z funkcí čítanky je motivovat žáky k četbě a kultivovat tak jejich osobnost. Dále se zabývá samotným problémem čtenářství pubescentů, odhaluje důvody diferenciace ve výběru literatury a věnuje se způsobům motivace žáků k četbě v hodinách literatury.

Abstract:

Reading-book is a specific type of a textbook. It contains many literary work excerptions which should motivate students to after-school reading. This diploma thesis aims to find out if the using of a reading-book is directly related to choosing literary works and to quantity of books read by pupils between the ages of 11 – 15 years. It compares to what degree the literature read by pupils agrees with the literature digest in reading-books used for the purpose of school teaching. There is a presumtion in the thesis that one of the reading-book s purposes is to motivate pupils to read and to cultivate their personalities. Furthermore the thesis is engaged in the problematics of reading books by pubescent children. It reveals the reasons of a differentiation in choosing a field of literature and it follows the ways how to motivate students to read books within school lessons.
