Family conferences in work with the elderly

Abstract:

Absolventská práce se zaměřuje na popis současné situace, kdy se demografické změny, především stárnutí populace, začínají viditelně promítat a je třeba na ně reagovat v oblasti poskytování sociálních služeb. V oblasti sociálních služeb se tyto změny projevují zvýšenou poptávkou po službách určených pro seniory. V textu je na práci se seniory a jejich rodinami nahlíženo z oblastí sociální politiky, legislativy, etiky a teorií a metod sociální práce. Jednou z technik, kterou mohou pracovníci při práci s rodinami se seniory využívat, jsou rodinné konference. Pomocí této techniky je možné efektivně řešit situace, kdy je třeba zajistit seniorům péči.

Abstract:

The graduate thesis focuses on the description of the current situation when demographic changes are becoming evident, to which it is necessary to respond in the field of social services. These changes are manifested mainly by the aging of the population. In the area of social services, these changes are manifested by an increased demand for services for the elderly. In this thesis, work with the elderly and their families is viewed from the fields of social policy, legislation, ethics, and theories and methods of social work. One technique that workers can use when working with families with seniors is family conferences. This technique can be used to effectively address situations where seniors need to be cared for.
