Analysis of the entrepreneurial needs of students of technical and economic studies in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce řeší potřeby podnikajících studentů, ale i těch studentů, kteří nepodnikají, ale plánují podnikat. Cílem je zhodnotit, co by těmto studentům pomohlo a jaké naopak spatřují v podnikání bariéry, aby mohlo dojít k navržení konkrétních doporučení a zlepšení podnikatelského prostředí jako celku. Výzkum probíhal na základě dotazníkového šetření, kterého se zúčastnilo 210 respondentů. Výsledky ukazují, že největší bariérou pro podnikající studenty je časově náročná administrativa a přebujelá byrokracie. Naopak nejvíce by studentům v podnikání pomohlo zajištění financování projektu. Studentům by také pomohla rozsáhlejší výuka podnikání na školách. Ve výzkumu také došlo k analýze faktorů, které by studenty v podnikání mohly ovlivňovat. Mezi tyto faktory patří výběr studijního oboru, pohlaví a skutečnost, že alespoň jeden z rodičů studenta podnikal nebo podniká. U veškerých faktorů dochází k závěru, že studenty v podnikání mohou ovlivňovat. V závěru práce jsou formulována konkrétní doporučení, která by mohla pomoci se zvýšením zájmu o podnikání mezi studenty.

Abstract:

This thesis evaluates the needs of entrepreneurial students, but also students, who are not running a business at the moment but plan to do it in the future. The aim is to conclude what would help these students and reveal the obstacles they face, in order to provide some specific suggestions to increase the entrepreneurial spirit and support the young people on the path to their dream. The research was conducted based on a questionnaire survey, performed by 210 respondents. The results expose that the biggest barrier for entrepreneurship is time consuming administration and overwhelming bureaucracy. On the contrary, securing project funding at the early stages would help students to start their businesses the most. Students would also benefit from more entrepreneurship education in schools. The research also analyzed the factors that can affect entrepreneurial students. These factors include a choice of field of study, gender, and the fact that at least one of the student's parents has or had been running a business. In the conclusion of the thesis, specific recommendations are formulated that could help increase the interest in entrepreneurship among students and support them in the beginning of their journey.
