Possibilities of Automating Data Annotation

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabyvá tvorbou a anotací datasetů pro strojové učení v oblasti počítačového vidění. Práce shrnuje stávající standardy a doporučení pro tvorbu kvalitních datasetů a popisuje jednotlivé fáze procesu tvorby datasetu v praxi. Dále se věnuje možnostem využití modelů strojového učení pro usnadnění anotace dat. V práci je také představen open source nástroj LabelMe pro anotování dat a implementován nástroj pro převod segmentačních masek z COCO formátu do polygonového formátu nástroje LabelMe. Funkčnost nástroje je otestována na vzorovych datech.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the creation and annotation of datasets for machine learning in the field of computer vision. The thesis summarizes the existing standards and recommendations for creating high-quality datasets and describes the individual phases of the dataset creation process in practice. It also focuses on the possibilities of using machine learning models to facilitate data annotation. The thesis also presents the open source tool LabelMe for data annotation and implements a tool for converting segmentation masks from COCO format to the polygon format of the LabelMe tool. The functionality of the tool is tested on sample data.
