The Concept of Home in the Phenomenology of the Life-World

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je problematika domova ve fenomenologii přirozeného světa. Práce se zabývá domovem především v jeho metafyzickém smyslu, který je vymezen vztahem lidské existence ke světu. Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl prokázat, že je domov samotnou podmínkou vzniku lidské existence a nelze ho tak redukovat na žádnou z objektivních kategorií fyzikálního světa. V práci najdeme základní vymezení pojmů: domov, přirozený svět, vědecký svět, existence a fenomenologie. Pro komplexnější pochopení problematiky je na začátku práce uveden historický vývoj filosofie domova, jehož výklad je postaven na tenzi mezi světem přirozeným a vědeckým. Za ústřední myšlenkový zdroj je považována filosofie Jana Patočky. Jeho pojetí domova je následně uvedeno do vztahu k jiným koncepcím domova u fenomenologicky orientovaných filosofů, především M. Heideggera a E. Lévinase. Hlavní výzkumnou otázkou je: ,,Jaký význam má domov pro lidskou existenci v kontextu krize moderního lidství?“ Důležitým faktorem je v této problematice také otázka druhého. Závěrečná část práce se věnuje analýze rozporných témat ve filosofii domova. Za metodu bakalářské práce byla zvolena kritická analýza literatury.

Abstract:

The topic of this Bachelor´s thesis is the concept of home in the phenomenology of the Life-world. The work mainly deals with the home, especially in its metaphysical sense, which is defined by the relationship of human existence to the world. This thesis aims to demonstrate that the home is the condition of human existence, and therefore the home can´t be reduced to any objective category of a physical world. In this work we can find the basic definitions of the home, the life-world, a scientific world, an existence and a phenomenology. For a more comprehensive understanding of this issue, at the beginning there is a historical development of the philosophy of the home, which is based on a tension between the life-world and scientific-world. The philosophy of Jan Patočka is considered as a main source. His concept of the home is brought into relation to other home´s concepts of philosophers of phenomenological orientation, especially with M. Heidegger and E. Lévinas. The main question of this work is: “What is the importance of the home to the human existence in the context of the crisis of modern humanity?” In this issue there is also an important factor a question of the other. The final part of the paper is devoted to the analysis of conflict topics of the philosophy of home. The method of this thesis is a critical analysis of the literature.
