Půda, jako neobnovitelný zdroj, hraje klíčovou roli v udržení ekosystémů a je zásadní pro lesní produktivitu a koloběh vody a živin. Degradace půdy, včetně vodní a větrné eroze a kontaminace, má značný negativní dopad na její chemické, fyzikální a biologické vlastnosti.
