Field experiment with factors influencing waiters' tips

Abstract:

This diploma thesis documents and evaluates the field experiment with the behaviorist factors influencing the amount of tips in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to find out whether the customers really give the waiters or waitresses the tips as the gratitude expression for good service they provide in the reastaurant. There is a hypothesis testing whether the tip is reduced when the customer pays it to another waiter or waitress. The datas were gathered in Brno restaurants by the help of waiters and waitresses. The thesis involve the literature search and data analysis by means of descriptive statistics and linear regression.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce dokumentuje a vyhodnocuje polní experiment s behaviorálními faktory, jež ovlivnují výši spropitného v Ceské republice. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda zákazníci skutecne nechávají cíšníkum spropitné jako projev vdecnosti za dobrou obsluhu behem pobytu v restauraci. Testuje se hypotéza, zda se spropitné sníží, jestliže zákazník platí jiné servírce než té, která ho obsluhovala. Data byla sesbíraná formou experimentu v brnenské restauraci ve spolupráci se servírkami. Práce zahrnuje rešerši literatury a analýzu dat pomocí popisných statistik a lineární regrese.
