Energy savings possibilities at computer technology utilization

Abstract:

Oblast informačních technologií prochází v posledních letech dynamickým vývojem, a to nejen v technologických parametrech, ale rovněž v otázkách ekonomické i ekologické šetrnosti vyvíjených produktů. Autor této bakalářské práce si klade za cíl podchytit problematiku úspor při využívání výpočetní techniky. Energetická náročnost počítače se odvíjí od použitých komponentů, a proto je nejprve popsán vliv jednotlivých prvků výpočetní techniky. Dále jsou nastíněny možnosti šetření v této oblasti. Poté je provedeno měření spotřeby elektrické energie běžného počítače, energeticky optimalizované verze, notebooku a monitoru CRT a LCD. Na základě aplikovaného testování jsou navržena doporučení úsporných řešení při nákupu nové výpočetní techniky a popsána efektivita takovýchto opatření.

Abstract:

The section of the information technology goes through the dynamically development. This development is not only in the technological characteristics but also in the economics and the ecological issues in the economy of development products. Author of this bachelor work set up the target to catch the problems of savings during the using computer technology. The energy intensity of the computer is dependent upon used components so firstly is described the efect of the feature component of the computer technology. There are described the possibilities of the savings in this section. There is also implemented the measuring of the power consumption of comon computer configuration, the power optimized version, the notebook and the monitors CRT and LCD. Base on application testing there are proposed recommendation of economy solution during the purchasing of the new computer technology and there is also described efficiency of this actions.
