Song works of Jacques Ibert with focus on the cycle Chansons de Don Quichotte

Abstract:

Mezi významné osobnosti evropské hudební scény první poloviny 20. století patří francouzský skladatel Jacques François Antoine Marie Ibert (1890-1962). Na seznamu jeho nesčetných výtvorů, zahrnujících téměř všechny hudební žánry, se nacházejí čtyři Chansons de Don Quichotte ("Písně dona Quichota"). V této bakalářské práci je pracováno s komorní verzí tohoto písňového cyklu, která je určená pro baryton a klavír, největší důraz je kladen na interpretační rozbor výše zmíněných skladeb a následnou konfrontaci rozboru s nahrávkou. Dalším cílem práce je seznámení s Iberovou vokálně-instrumentální tvorbou se zaměřením na písňové cykly.

Abstract:

One of the significant figures of the European music scene in the first half of the 20th century was the French composer Jacques François Antoine Marie Ibert (1890-1962). His countless works, covering almost all musical genres, include four Chansons de Don Quichotte ("Songs of Don Quixote"). This bachelor's thesis is focused on the chamber version of this song cycle, intended for baritone and piano, with the main emphasis on the interpretive analysis of the aforementioned compositions and subsequent comparison with a recording. The next objective of the work is to introduce the reader to vocal-instrumental work of Ibert, with focus on song cycles.
