Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Druhý demografický přechod v ČR – vybrané regionální aspekty“ je analýza demografického vývoje v ČR v kontextu předpokládaného druhého demografického přechodu (SDT) v regionální perspektivě. Cílem práce je zjistit, do jaké míry je demografické chování reflektující STD v ČR regionálně specifické a identifikovat tato specifika. První část práce je zaměřena na teoretické zakotvení konceptu druhého demografického přechodu včetně pohledu jeho oponentů. Druhá část práce se soustředí na empirickou evidenci o demografickém chování a jeho proměnách v souvislosti s SDT ve vybraných státech severní, západní a jižní Evropy. Třetí část podrobněji rozebírá příčiny a následky změn v demografických chování v ČR po roce 1989. Čtvrtá, analytická, část se s využitím dostupných datových podkladů pokusí identifikovat, zda SDT vytváří v ČR určité regionální vzorce, zda je SDT v ČR proces homogenní nebo zda existují signifikantní regionální rozdíly (okresy, město vs. venkov) v demografickém chování populace ČR.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis “The Second Demographic Transition in the Czech Republic Selected Regional Aspects”, as the title proposes, is to analyze demographic changes in the Czech Republic within the context of presumed Second Demographic Transition (SDT) in the spatial perspective of regions. It explores regional differences in the demographic behaviour reflecting SDT in the Czech Republic and attempts to identify specific\common patterns. The first part discusses the theoretical concept of the Second Demographic Transition including the opponents’ perspective. The second part focuses on the empirical evidence of the SDT behaviour in selected states of Northern, Western and Southern Europe. The third part takes a closer look at the causes and consequences of the changes in demographic behaviour in the Czech Republic after 1989. The final, analytical, part uses the available data to identify potential spatial patterns of SDT in the Czech Republic, homogeneity/regional differentiation (NUTS4, urban vs. rural area) in the demographic behaviour of the Czech population.
