The main objective of this thesis is the translation of the English legal text with a commentary and glossaries. For the purposes of translation were chosen the certain sections of the Chapter from the Iowa State Code, dealing with the weapons. Cílem této bakalářské práce je překlad vybraného anglického textu z oblasti právní s komentářem a glosářem. Pro překlad byly vybrány části kapitoly zákona z amerického státu Iowa, zabývající se zbraněmi. Teoretická část se zabývá teorií překladu, typy a technikami překladu a kompetencemi překladatele.
