Identifying the needs of families with children with psychiatric diagnosis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je věnována rodinám dětí s psychiatrickou diagnózou a potřebám rodin. Autorka vymezuje pojmy, koncepty a poznatky spojené s danou problematikou. Zabývá se výchovou a péčí o dítě, rodinou dítěte s psychiatrickou a funkcemi rodiny, výchovnými styly, dítětem a jeho psychiatrickými diagnózami. Popisuje potřeby rodin, životní situace rodin, problémy, se kterými se rodiny potýkají a sociální služby na Kutnohorsku. Na základě poznatků, získaných z 27 polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s matkami dětí, které byly zaměřeny na současnou situaci rodin, jejich problémy, potřeby a možnosti současné podpory rodiny a pomoci v jejich okolí, pozorováním a analýzou dat, bylo možné zmapovat potřeby rodin a jistit, že podpora rodin, týkající se naplňování potřeb, je přiměřená v Kutné Hoře a blízkém okolí, nepřiměřená je podpora rodin ve vzdále- nějších místech od Kutné Hory, kde je podpora rodin ze strany organizací téměř nulová. Proto je nutné zavést aktivizační službu pro rodiny s dětmi, která by rodinám na Kutnohorsku pomohla řešit jejich kumulované problémy.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis is dedicated to families of children with psychiatric diagnosis and family's needs. The author defines the terms, concepts and knowledge related to the theme. The author deals with education and child care, about family of a child with a psychiatric diagnosis and family functions, educational styles, with a child and his psychiatric diagnoses. There are described the family needs, the situation of families, the problems which are faced by families and social services in the Kutná Hora region. Based on knowledge acquired from 27 semi-structured interviews with mothers of children who were focused on the current family situation, their problems, needs and possibilities of current family support and help in their area, observing and analyzing the data, it was possible to map out needs of families and insure that supports of families on the fulfillment of needs is adequate in Kutna Hora and its nearby environs, but it is inadequate to support families in remote areas of Kutna Hora, where family supports from organizations almost approaching to zero. Therefore, it is necessary to establish some services for families with children who would Kutná Hora families to help solve the cumulative problems.
