The current situation in the prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Pilsen Region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem: "Současná situace v prevenci HIV/AIDS v Plzeňském kraji" se zabývá problematiku a prevencí proti přenosu HIV infekce a onemocnění AIDS. Cílem práce bylo zjistit informovanost laické veřejnosti o tomto onemocnění. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, a to z části teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části práce jsou obsaženy poznatky týkající se viru HIV a onemocnění AIDS, způsobů přenosu, původci onemocnění, klinických příznaků, léčbě této infekce a o preventivních opatřeních proti přenosu. Praktická část zjišťuje úroveň znalostí laické veřejnosti o charakteristice HIV/AIDS, zda znají opatření proti přenosu, jak se virus přenáší a o možnostech a místech testování. Skládá se z analýzy dat účastnících se respondentů v dotazníkovém šetření. Výsledky jsou zpracovány formou kvantitativního výzkumu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis titled "The current situation in the prevention of HIV/AIDS in the Pilsen Region" deals with the issue of transmission and prevention of HIV infection and AIDS. The aim of the study was to verify the awareness about this dinase within public community. The thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused to describe the current knowledge and findings regarding HIV and AIDS, the origin and transmission of the infection, clinical symptomatology, treatment and transmission prevention of the disease. The practical part investigates the level of knowledge within public community in respect to the HIV/AIDS characteristics, transmission prevention precautions, and infection testing methods and centers. It conteins the data that were obtained from the respondents participating in the survey. The results are presented in the form of a quantitative research.
