Comparison of laminates with a hydrophilic membrane suitable for running and similar activities

Abstract:

Záměrem této kvalifikační práce je porovnání textilních laminátů s neporézní hydrofilní membránou vhodných pro běh, a nalezení optimální kombinace jejich parametrů, s ohledem na požadavky termofyziologického komfortu běžce extrémních překážkových závodů. Teoretická část krátce představuje sport extrémní překážkové závody a jeho odlišnosti od klasického běhu. Podrobněji se zaměřuje na komfort textilií, zásady vrstveného oblékání a popis významných fyzikálních parametrů textilií souvisejících s komfortem textilií. Dále je teoretická část zaměřena na druhy funkčních membrán určených pro outdoorové oblečení, a na způsoby laminace textilních membránových materiálů. Experimentální část je zaměřena na laboratorní měření a porovnání vzorků konkrétních dvouvrstvých textilních laminátů s neporézní hydrofilní membránou, nalezení optimální kombinace parametrů jejich hydrostatické odolnosti, prodyšnosti a paropropustnosti, a to především s ohledem na požadavky termofyziologického komfortu běžce. Dále je experimentální část doplněna o snímky porovnávaných vzorků materiálů, zhotovené pomocí rastrovacího elektronového mikroskopu.

Abstract:

The abstract of this Bachelor´s thesis is focused on comparison of fabric laminates with non-porous hydrophilic membranes, which are suitable for jogging and finding the optimal combination of their parameters according to the requirements of thermophysiological comfort of runners in extreme obstacle races. The theoretical part briefly presents the sport of extreme obstacle course racing and its difference compared to the jogging. This part deeply focuses on textile comfort, the principles of layered dressing and description of the important physical parameters of the textiles in relation to the comfort. This part also contains the types of functional membranes designated for outdoor clothing and methods of lamination of textile membrane materials. The experimental part is focused on laboratory measurements and comparison of specific samples of the two-layer textile laminates with non-porous hydrophilic membrane, followed up by finding optimal combination of their parameters of hydrostatic resistance, breathability and water permeability, especially with the requirements of the thermophysiological comfort of the runner. This part includes pictures of compared material samples, which were made with a scanning electron microscope.
