Dental hygiene in the context of "value for money"

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá zjišťováním hodnoty, kterou pro pacienty má preventivní stomatologická péče v podobě služeb dentální hygieny. Jejím cílem bylo zjistit, jaké jsou preference pacientů v souvislosti s prezentovanými balíčky stomatologické péče, a zároveň zhodnotit, jestli, a případně v jaké výši, jsou za ně ochotni platit. K naplnění cílů práce byla použita metoda discrete choice experiment (DCE), která zjišťuje hodnotu pro pacienty na základě jejich deklarovaných preferencí. Výsledky výzkumu ukázaly, že jsou pacienti nejen ochotni za prevenci zaplatit, ale také že preferují komplexní dentální hygienu před ošetřením zubním lékařem v rámci preventivní zubní prohlídky.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with determining the value of preventive dental care in the form of dental hygiene services for patients. Its goal was to find out what the patients' preferences are in connection with the dental care packages presented, and at the same time to evaluate if, and possibly in what amount, they are willing to pay for them. The discrete choice experiment (DCE) method was used to fulfill the objectives of the work, which determines the value for patients based on their declared preferences. The results of the research showed that patients are not only willing to pay for prevention, but also that they prefer comprehensive dental hygiene to treatment by a dentist as part of a preventive dental checkup.
