The evolution of industry in the Nový Jíčín region

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Evoluce průmyslu v okrese Nový Jičín má za úkol zmapovat základní trendy ve vývoji průmyslové výroby v tomto regionu. Velká část práce je věnována historii, jakožto základnímu stavebnímu kamenu pro budoucí rozvoj. Teoretická část bakalářské práce se snaží o vysvětlení základních přístupů, souvisejících s hodnocením průmyslu. Jsou zde také rozebrány novější a modernější metody, jako jsou klastry či přímé zahraniční investice. Praktická část pak analyzuje současný stav průmyslu v okrese, který je z velké částí srovnáván s rokem 1987. Porovnávána jsou také data za okres s daty na celou Českou republiku. Pro tuto část práce je klíčový koeficient lokalizace, který umožnil identifikovat hlavní odvětví zpracovatelského průmyslu v okrese, a to výrobu dopravních prostředků a také textilní a oděvní průmysl, který v minulosti v okrese značně prosperoval. Na základě koeficientu lokalizace je také možno si uvědomit, že na území okresu Nový Jičín lze vysledovat možnosti pro zvyšování konkurenceschopnosti regionu prostřednictvím klastrových iniciativ.

Abstract:

My thesis ?The Evolution of Industry in the Nový Jičín region? intends to find and describe basic trends in the evolution of industrial production in the region. Major part of the thesis is devoted to the history as a basis for the future evolution. The theoretical part of the thesis attempts to clarify the basic approaches related to the evaluation of the industry. It also discusses more recent and modern methods like clusters or direct foreign investments. The practical part then analyses the current state of the industry in the district which is compared to the year 1987. It also compares data of the district with the data of the whole of the Czech Republic. For this part of the thesis, the coefficient of localisation is essential as a tool that has facilitated the indentification of the main industry branches in the district, which is the production of the means of transport and also textile and clothing industries that used to prosper very well in the past. Based on the coefficient of localisation, we are also able to state that in the territory of Nový Jičín District possibilities can be traced aimed at raising competitiveness of the region using cluster iniciatives.
