Golf tourism in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Golfová turistika v České republice" má za cíl zjistit, jestli má Česká republika potenciál stát se vyspělou golfovou destinací a jestli měl titul "Neobjevená golfová destinace roku 2007" vliv na rozvoj české golfové turistiky a na růst počtu přijíždějících golfových turistů. V úvodní části je řečeno, jaké postavení má golfová turistika v rámci cestovního ruchu České republiky a proč je důležité se tímto typem cestovního ruchu zabývat. Poté práce podává stručný přehled historického vývoje golfu v České republice od dob jeho začátku až do současnosti a je také nastíněn základní profil golfového turisty. V další části se zabývá předpoklady pro rozvoj golfové turistiky v ČR. Nejdříve se zaměřuje na selektivní předpoklady, kde se pojednává o politické situaci v zemi, o ekologii a zejména pak o propagaci golfu a golfové turistiky. V rámci lokalizačních předpokladů se práce zabývá přírodními a společenskými podmínkami a atraktivitami. Realizační předpoklady se pak více věnují golfovým hřištím, ubytovacím a stravovacím zařízením, cestovním kancelářím a agenturám zabývající se golfovou turistikou, dopravě a turistickým informačním centrům. Dále jsou také definovány různé golfové balíčky, které se dají v České republice utvořit. V práci jsou také zveřejněny výsledky průzkumu České centrály cestovního ruchu o příjezdovém golfovém cestovním ruchu za roky 2007 a 2008. V těchto průzkumech byl zjištěn profil golfového turisty a přibližný počet zahraničních turistů, kteří přijíždí hrát golf do České republiky. V závěru se práce věnuje perspektivám golfové turistiky, jsou uvedeny výhody a příležitosti české golfové turistiky a problémy, které by mohly zbrzdit její vývoj.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis "Golf tourism in the Czech Republic" aims to find out if the Czech Republic has the potential to become a mature golf destination and whether the title of "Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year 2007" has had an influence on the development of Czech golf tourism and on the increase of number of tourists coming to play golf. The first part mentions what status takes golf tourism within the tourism industry of the Czech Republic and why it is important to deal with this type of tourism. Afterwards the thesis gives a brief overview of the historical development of golf in the Czech Republic since its beginning until now and also outlines the basic profile of a golf tourist. The next section is concerned with the conditions of the development of golf tourism in the country. Firstly, it focuses on the selective conditions, where it refers to the political situation in the country, the environment and especially to the promotion of golf and golf tourism in general. Within the frame of localizing conditions this work deals with natural and social conditions and the attractiveness. Realizing conditions are dedicated to golf courses, accommodation and catering facilities, travel agencies and travel agents involved in golf tourism, furthermore to transport and tourist information centers. Moreover, there have been defined various golf packages, which can be arranged for golf tourists in the Czech Republic. The paper also shows the results of the research on incoming golf tourism in the years of 2007 and 2008 by Czech Tourism. These surveys identified the profile of a golf tourist and the approximate number of foreign tourists who come to play golf in the Czech Republic. In conclusion, the paper deals with golf tourism perspectives, the advantages and opportunities for Czech golf tourism and the problems that could impede its development.
