Diplomová práce se zabývá životem Romů v Karviné po roce 1989 a rolí sociální práce. V práci je krátce popsána historie odchodu Romů z Indie, až po jejich příchod do Českých zemí. Informace o roli sociální práce popisují především období před a po roce 1989. Výzkumné poznatky jsou doplněny o vzpomínky pamětníka, který v Karviné prožil šedesát čtyři let. Abstract:
Thesis deals with life of the Roma in Karviná after 1989 and the role of social work. The work briefly describes the history of the departure of Roma from India, until their arrival in Czech lands. Information on the role of social work mainly describes the period before and after 1989.
