Conservative or surgical treatment for anterior cruciate ligament injury? The comparison of two different rehabilitation protocols: clinical case

Abstract:

The debate between conservative treatment and surgical treatment has always been the subject of study and discussion among the various figures operating in the medical - scientific field. In this thesis we will try to distinguish, as far as possible and for the studies and revisions that the scientific literature makes available to us, This concerns the positive and negative aspects of these two methods of therapy for one of the most common injuries in sports involving the knee joint and more specifically the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament, or simply ACL. The knee joint, or femoral joint - tibial (consisting of femur, patella and tibia) is the most exposed joint and most affected by sprains and trauma, in particular in competitive athletes who practice a contact sport and high functional and physical performance such as football, basketball or volleyball.

Abstract:

Da sempre il dibattito tra trattamento conservativo e trattamento chirurgico ? stato oggetto di studio e di discussione tra le varie figure che operano nell'ambito medico - scientifico. In questa tesi di laurea si prover? a distinguere, per quanto possibile e per gli studi e le revisioni che la letteratura scientifica ci mette a disposizione, ci? che riguarda gli aspetti positivi e gli aspetti negativi di queste due metodiche di terapia per uno degli infortuni pi? comuni in ambito sportivo che riguarda l'articolazione del ginocchio con maggiore focus sulla lesione del legamento crociato anteriore. L'articolazione del ginocchio, o articolazione femoro - tibiale (costituita da femore, rotula e tibia) ? l'articolazione pi? esposta e pi? colpita da distorsioni e traumi, in particolare negli atleti agonisti che praticano uno sport di contatto e ad alta prestazione funzionale e fisica come il calcio, basket o pallavolo.
