The impact of demographic changes on life insurance

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává na téma vlivu demografických změn na životní pojištění v ČR mezi lety 2009 až 2019. Hlavním cílem je tyto vlivy analyzovat, určit trend a odhadnout budoucí možný vývoj. Součástí práce je demografická analýza ČR za rok 2019, ve které byla vypočtena řada demografických ukazatelů charakterizujících současnou demografickou situaci. Byl zde popsán problém demografického stárnutí ČR, jeho příčiny, dopady a nastíněno řešení brzdící jeho dopady. V části věnované životnímu pojištění kromě teorie došlo k popisu dalších vlivů na životní pojištění, zejména regulatorního charakteru – unisex přístup v pojišťovnictví. V závěrečné části došlo k analýze vybraných demografických změn na životní pojištění a pojistný trh, přímou závislost se u většiny z nich nepodařilo kvantifikovat tedy ani prokázat. Může tomu tak být kvůli časovému nesouladu a tím, že se demografické změny promítají až s odstupem času. Zároveň je životní pojištění ovlivněno i další faktory, k jejich identifikaci je potřeba provést podrobnější analýzu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the influence of demographic changes on life insurance in the Czech Republic between 2009 and 2019. The main goal is to analyze these influences, determine the trend and estimate future possible developments. Part of the work is a demographic analysis of the Czech Republic in 2019, in which a number of demographic indicators characterizing the current demographic situation were calculated. The problem of demographic aging in the Czech Republic, its causes, impacts and a solution limiting its impacts were described here. In the part devoted to life insurance, in addition to the theory, there was a description of other influences on life insurance, especially of a regulatory nature - the "unisex legislation" in the insurance industry. In the final part, there was an analysis of selected demographic changes in life insurance and the insurance market, the direct dependence in most of them could not be quantified or proven. This may be due to time discrepancies and the fact that demographic changes are reflected in the passage of time. At the same time, life insurance is also affected by other factors; a more detailed analysis is needed to identify them.
