Laureates of the Jiří Orten Prize and Czech Literature of the 21st Century

Abstract:

Diplomová práce představuje historii a statut Ceny Jiřího Ortena. Charakterizuje laureáty ceny z let 2000 až 2010, jejich oceněná díla, poroty, které jim toto ocenění udělily a vydavatelství, která jejich počiny vydala. Shrnuje klíčová fakta a události související s průběhem této literární ceny v prvním desetiletí dvacátého prvního století. Během sledovaného období bylo uskutečněno celkem 10 ročníků, v roce 2001 se soutěž nekonala. Uznání se dočkalo 12 autorů, jelikož v letech 2002 a 2007 byli vybráni dva laureáti. V roce 2009 došlo ke změně organizátora. Vedle organizátorů, porotců a laureátů se na charakteru jednotlivých ročníků značně podílela i média.

Abstract:

The diploma work introduces the history and status of Jiří Orten Award. It characterizes the award laureates from years 2000 to 2010, their awarded work, the judges who awarded them the prize and the publishers who published thein work. It summarizes the key facts and events connected with the duration of this literary award in the first decade of the twenty-first century. During the perceived period of time 10 annual ceremonies were held, except in 2001 when the competition did not take place. There were 12 authors honoured as in years 2002 and 2007 two candidates were chosen. In 2009 there was a change of the organizer. Besides the organizers, judges and laureates it was also the media which considerably contributed to the characteristics of particular Antal ceremonies.
