The Role of a Care Service in Handling the Life Situation of Seniors With Reduced Self-Sufficiency

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tím, jakou roli hraje pečovatelská služba v životě seniorů se sníženou soběstačností. Cílem práce je pokusit se nalézt odpověď na hlavní výzkumnou otázku: V čem představy klientů vybrané pečovatelské služby o nabídce podpory jejich života v přirozeném domácím prostředí v kontextu měnící se životní situace odpovídají a v čem neodpovídají existující nabídce této podpory? Text práce je rozdělen na tři části. V teoretické části se zabývám vymezením seniorů jako cílové skupiny a služeb, které jsou této cílové skupině určeny, se zaměřením na terénní pečovatelskou službu. Následně je popsána životní situace klientů pečovatelské služby a teoretické vymezení pojmu představy. Druhá část práce popisuje metodologii, která je využita v rámci výzkumného šetření. Interpretační část je věnována prezentaci výsledků výzkumného šetření, které je provedeno prostřednictvím rozhovorů s klienty i pracovníky vybrané pečovatelské služby. Závěrem je shrnutí získaných poznatků do odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku a doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the role of a care service in life of seniors with reduced self-sufficiency. The goal of this thesis is to try to find an answer to the main research question: In what aspects the ideas of clients of a selected care service on the offered support of their lives in a natural home environment in context of a changing life situation are corresponding and in which aspects are not corresponding with the existing offer of this support? The thesis is divided into three sections. The theoretical section is aimed at defining seniors as the target group, and at services, which are designed for this target group, with the focus on a care service. Subsequently the life situation of the care service clients is described and the concept of idea is defined. The second section of the thesis describes the methodology, which is used in the context of the research. The interpretative section is dedicated to a presentation of the results of the research, which is based on interviews with clients and workers of the care service. The conclusion is the research findings summarized into the answer to the main question and recommendations for the practice.
