My disertation deals with the origin, evolution and changes of toponyms, it offers a view into the linguistic branch of onomastics and its branch toponomastics. My thesis solves also concrete toponyms of chosen places in South Bohemia. I have used municipalities which cover the whole monitored area. Bakalářská práce pojednává nejprve všeobecně o vzniku, vývoji a změnách místních jmen, nabízí náhled do lingvistické disciplíny onomastiky a její součásti - toponomastiky. Poté práce řeší konkrétní místní jména vybraných obcí v Jižních Čechách. Jedná se o obce s rozšířenou působností, které pokrývají celé sledované území.
