Abstract:

Tématem této práce je teoretické vymezení žánrů mýdlové opery a telenovely, vylíčení jednotlivých žánrových specifik, zejména na pozadí historického vývoje s ohledem na jejich společné literární kořeny, a stručná charakteristika současných trendů v obou seriálových subžánrech. Žánr mýdlové opery dělím na soap opery dynastické (Dallas), komunitní (Coronation Street) a dyadické (The Bold and Beautiful). Dynastické mýdlové opery mohou být dvojího typu, liší se dle otevřenosti a hierarchizace rodinné struktury: (1) "kmotr`` (Lampsi); (2) "ctnostný patriarcha`` (Dynastie). Telenovely lze klasifikovat na základě několika kritérií: (1) dle země původu; (2) dle funkce; (3) dvoumodelové členění. Toto členění aplikuji na současné české seriály (Ordinace v růžové zahradě, Ošklivka Katka, Ulice, Velmi křehké vztahy), které spadají do žánrů mýdlové opery a telenovely. Zároveň poukazuji na česká specifika těchto seriálů a popisuji aktuální trendy ve vývoji těchto dvou žánrů nejen v českém prostředí. Telenovela pomalu ztrácí svá žánrová specifika a stále více se podobá žánru mýdlové opery

Abstract:

This work aims to theoretically define the genres of soap opera and telenovela, to describe specifications of these genres mainly on the historical background with considering their common literary roots, and to briefly characterize nowadays trends in serial subgenres. The genre of soap opera is divided as follows: dynastic (Dallas), community (Coronation Street) and dyadic (The Bold and Beautiful). There are two types of dynastic soap operas distinguished by their flexibility and by the hierarchy of family structure: (1) ``godfather" (Lampsi); (2) ``honourable patriarch" (Dynasty). The telenovelas may be classified by several criterions: (1) by the country of origin; (2) by its function; (3) two-pattern classification. I apply these classifications on nowadays Czech serials (Ordinace v růžové zahradě, Ošklivka Katka, Ulice, Velmi křehké vztahy) that are either soap operas or telenovelas. I also point out Czech specifications of these serials and describe nowadays trends in development of these two genres (not only in Czech background). Telenovela slowly loses its specifications and is more and more soap opera-like
