Obraz Doriana Graye je jediným románem Oscara Wildea. Příběh původně vyšel roku 1890 v Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine a vyvolal pobouření pro svůj homosexuální obsah. Pro moderního čtenáře se to může zdát přehnanou reakcí, ale viktoriánská společnost byla svázána velmi přísnými pravidly. Abstract:
The Picture of Dorian Gray is Oscar Wilde’s only novel. It was originally published in 1890 in Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine and it caused outrage for its homosexual content. Although for a modern reader it might seem confusing, the Victorian society was bound by very strict rules.
