Brain drain vs brain gain in Europe

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je vymezení pojmu migrace a jevu brain drain a brain gain. Pozornost analýzy je zaměřena na migrační toky mezi vybranými evropskými zeměmi a na vzájemný vztah hrubého domácího produktu, průměrných ročních mezd, míry zaměstnanosti vysoce vzdělaných migrantů a podílu těchto migrantů. Na základě získaných dat je statistickými metodami provedena analýza a vyvozeny závěry.

Abstract:

The aim of this Master thesis is to define the term migration, brain drain and brain gain. The thesis focuses on the migration flows within the chosen set of European countries and on the connections between gross domestic product, average annual wages, employment rate of well-educated migrants and percentage of this group of migrants. The analysis is based on the acquired data and uses statistical methods to deduce conclusions.
