Práce, kterou máte před sebou, vznikla jako studijní materiál ke stejnojmennému kurzu Okruhy a moduly vyučovanému na Přírodovědecké fakultě Masarykovy univerzity. Látka je vysvětlována pomocí algebraických i kategoriálních metod, přičemž první zmíněné jsou prerekvizitou pro studium teorie modulù.
