Depicting the accession of the Habsburgs on the Czech throne through art and drama.

Abstract:

Cílem mé diplomové práce je pomocí dramatizace a výtvarných technik lépe pochopit učivo vlastivědy zaměřené na historii Habsburků a pomocí dotazníku porovnat dvě skupiny dětí (tříd), jak dané učivo lépe zvládly a jak si ho zapamatovaly, když jedna skupina se učila dramatizací a druhá klasickou frontální výukou. Diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou částí a to teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část je zaměřena na projektové vyučování, historii projektového vyučování, popis metod a technik dramatické výchovy, historii dramatické výchovy, popis výtvarných technik a historii Habsburků. Praktická část popisuje realizaci projektu, která probíhala použitím dramatických a výtvarných technik. Součástí praktické části je fotodokumentace. Před závěrem práce se nachází výzkum, kde se pomocí dotazníku porovnávají dvě skupiny, které se učivo Habsburků učily buď zařazením dramatizace a výtvarných technik anebo klasickou frontální výukou. Na CD je přiložena videonahrávka z generální zkoušky a představení.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of Czech national history, focussing on the Habsburg Monarchy by using drama and art; and by using questionnaires to compare how two different groups of children (classes) understood and remembered the curriculum, whilst one group was taught the subject through using drama and the other was taught using conventional methods. The thesis consists of two parts, one being theoretical and the other practical. The theoretical part focusses on Project-based learning, the history of PBL, the description of the drama methods and techniques, the history of the drama, the description of artistic techniques and the history of the Habsburg Monarchy. The practical part describes the production of the play that was created through using drama and art. Part of the practical section includes photo documentation. Before the conclusion there is a research part in which two groups that were taught about the Habsburg Monarchy by either using drama and art or by conventional methods are being compared by using a questionnaire. The CD containing a video from the rehearsals and the performance has been attached.
