Penitentiary system of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce důkladně analyzuje český vězeňský systém od jeho historických počátků po současnost. Zaměřuje se na aktuální problematiku v oblasti vězeňství, zejména ve vztahu k organizaci a správě věznic. Kromě toho poskytuje komplexní pohled na výkon trestu odnětí svobody a zkoumá rehabilitační programy a práva a povinnosti vězňů. Praktická část této práce zahrnuje provedení dotazníkového šetření mezi zaměstnanci Vězeňské služby. Toto šetření se soustředí na jejich postoje k aktuálním výzvám v oblasti vězeňství, hledá jejich perspektivy na potenciální řešení těchto problémů a hodnotí jejich celkovou spokojenost s prací v tomto prostředí. Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je provést důkladnou analýzu systému vězeňství v České republice a zároveň přiblížit tuto významnou problematiku širší veřejnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis thoroughly analyzes the Czech prison system from its historical beginnings to the present. It focuses on current issues in the field of penitentiary, particularly in relation to the organization and administration of prisons. Additionally, it provides a comprehensive view of the execution of imprisonment, examining rehabilitation programs and the rights and duties of prisoners. The practical part of this work includes conducting a survey among the employees of the Prison Service. This survey focuses on their attitudes towards current challenges in the field of penitentiary, seeks their perspectives on potential solutions to these problems, and evaluates their overall job satisfaction in this environment. The main goal of this thesis is to conduct a thorough analysis of the penitentiary system in the Czech Republic and simultaneously bring this significant issue to the attention of the wider public.
